Stephan Bollinger, professional photographer from Switzerland, now living and working in Australia, reaches a milestone One Million Followers on social networkGoogle+. With a constantly growing army of dedicated followers, the 46 year old photographer has become one of the most followed photographers world wide, and (according to socialstatistics.com) the second most followed personality on Google+ in Australia.
Over the last decade, Stephan has established himself as a master of lighting, with a clear focus on beauty and portrait photography. Aside from his work as photographer, he also writes articles for various international publications, hosts the online photography show “10 From The Couch“, teaches photography workshops and takes on limited public speaking engagements. As active member of the International Academy of Visual Arts, Stephan has also taken on the role as judge for several international awards.
His video “Models Are Made“, illustrating the “fake reality” of advertising imagery and it’s influence on the negative body image and self esteem of many young women, has been watched over 65,000 times in over 180 countries world wide. Bollinger’s initiative was commended by the Australian Government and featured during the “Positive Body Image” Awards in 2012.
Stephan Bollinger is no stranger to being in front of the camera himself. He has been a singer and performer from an early age, starting in school bands before becoming one of the stars of the Swiss Hit Musical “Space Dream“, where he performed his award winning role both in Switzerland as well as in the 14 million dollar instalment of the show in Berlin Germany.
Since his departure from stage 15 years ago, the self-taught photographer has produced an astounding body of work. Aside from art, commercial and fashion projects, he also had the pleasure to photograph sporting icons like Roger Federer, the Australian Wallabies and the New Zealand All Blacks, musicians such as Seal, the Woodstock legends Canned Heat, the cast of the TV show “So you think you can dance“, and one of Stephan’s favourite images, an intimate portrait of his holiness the Dalai Lama, has been published on book- and DVD cover’s around the world.
In 2002, Stephan and his wife Amanda (a former principal classical ballet dancer) moved to Queensland Australia, where they enjoy the Australian lifestyle on the Gold Coast with their two young daughters Nyah and Yve-Noelle.
